Why an airport express train line ?

taxi

Train, bus, taxi, passenger car, shuttle, etc. services to Roissy CDG airport are fairly comprehensive these days, but transport and traffic conditions leave something to be desired. The A1 and A3 motorways are often congested, and journey times are fairly long. On average, it takes between 30 and 50 minutes by taxi or VTC shuttle, and at least 15 to 20 minutes longer by bus. There is no doubt that the introduction of the CDG Express train will have a significant impact on the business of the various taxi, shuttle and VTC companies providing transport between Paris and Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport. Demand for taxis will of course be adversely affected, but to what extent? It is difficult to answer this question today, but the Gare de l'Est area is not really a business district, and it is likely that some passengers will continue to choose door-to-door transport, especially as train fares are expected to be high...
