About station and airport transfers
How to choose the right transfer service to/from the train station or the airport ?
Difference between taxi and private passenger car service
The airport shuttle and car chauffeur driven service has a fixed price: the fare is paid in advance and does not vary. No traffic jams on your bill. In the case of taxis, the fare is charged by the meter and the amount therefore varies according to the traffic or the more or less direct route... If you make a reservation, you will be charged for the approach, which is not the case for VTC shuttles. The same applies to luggage. Important : A fixed price applies for journeys between Paris Orly or Roissy de Gaulle airports and city center.
Which is cheaper, taxi or passenger car service ?
Great question! You have to compare like with like... A transfer in a 2-seater economy saloon at off-peak times is not charged at the same price as an 8-seater minivan loaded with luggage at peak times. Generally speaking, taxis are cheaper for short distances (inner city journeys) with free-flowing traffic (some low-cost VTCs still manage to be very competitive), although this largely depends on any approach charges. Taxi cabs are generally more expensive for longer distances during rush hour, particularly when there is traffic congestion.
Departure for the airport or station
If you are going to the airport: You must book your passenger car service transfer in advance. Taxis can be booked at the last minute or at a taxi rank. In practice, however, it is preferable to book the day before to ensure that vehicles are available, particularly for an early morning transfer to the station or airport. Once you have made your reservation, the driver will pick you up at the address you gave when you made your booking - remember to give your telephone number (mobile if possible) to avoid any misunderstandings. In the case of a shared shuttle, the driver will make several stops to pick up other customers (in principle no more than 3) and the journey time will therefore be somewhat longer. With a private service, the journey is direct and therefore faster. Whether you are using a taxi or a shuttle, it is your responsibility to allow enough time for your flight if you are departing at busy times (leaving or leaving the office). Journey times from Paris Intra-muros vary according to the time of day: on average 40 to 60 minutes from Roissy airport and 30 to 50 minutes from Orly airport.
Return transfer from the airport or station to central Paris
If you are leaving the airport (or station): Your transfer must be booked in advance. The procedure varies depending on whether you have opted for a private or shared transfer. Shared transfer: This is the most financially attractive option for a single traveller or a couple. The shuttle will be waiting for you at one of the exit gates of your arrival terminal (check that this information appears on your booking form). You will then be travelling with other customers. The driver will make several stops to drop off passengers along the way. Private transfer: In most cases (Check with the transfer operator), the driver will be waiting for you outside customs at the airport or at the end of the station platform with a sign bearing your name. He will then accompany you to the shuttle bus and take you directly to your destination. This is the fastest and most comfortable solution, but also the most expensive.
The shuttle transfer service available for booking on this site is provided by Montransport. All vehicles are air-conditioned and non-smoking.
Other transfer services: Bus and train
Paris's two main airports (Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly) are very well connected to the city centre. You can take the bus or the train to get to the centre of the capital. The extension of metro line 14 also makes things much easier for Orly. As far as Beauvais is concerned, the alternative options to taxis or VTCs are a little more limited, but they do exist.
