Taking the bus in Paris
The city of Paris offers a unique public transport network. RATP (Paris transportation company) is the main architect of its development, managing both the buses and the metro.
Bus service
RATP offers 56 lines in Paris as well as numerous services and regular lines in the inner suburbs and to Paris Orly and Roissy Charles de Gaulle airports (Orlybus and Roissybus). RATP website.
Roissybus : The Roissybus links the centre of Paris directly to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. Journey time is about 60 minutes and ticket price is 16.6€ (One way). Bus stop is located at the corner of rue Scribe and rue Auber just stemps away from the Garnier Opera.
Orlybus : There is also a bus service between central Paris and Orly airport. Journey time to Orly airport is about 30 minutes and ticket price (one way) is 11.5€. The bus stop is located just next to the Denfert Rochereau metro station.
Air France bus service (Suspended)
Air France coaches used to provide a service between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports and the centre of Paris (5 regular routes). However, this service has been suspended and is now definitively closed.
Disneyland Paris coach service
A coach service between Paris city center, Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports and Disneyland Paris is operated by Magical Shuttle
There are 5 stops located downtown Paris :
- Gare du Nord: 83 rue Maubeuge
- Opera: 8 place de l'Opéra Garnier
- Madeleine: 3 boulevard Malesherbes
- Châtelet: Place du Châtelet
- Gare Montparnasse : 11 rue de l'Arrivée - This stop is only served in summer (July and August)
The same service is available from Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly airports. Follow the ‘Bus’ signs in the airport.
Take the subway or RER
The metro remains the most popular means of transport in Paris. In fact, it is the 4th busiest metro in the world. The RER (suburban train) completes the intramural network.
Subway

RER B provides a link between Orly, Paris and Roissy.
