Gare du Nord is the departure and arrival point for Thalys and Eurostar trains... It is the busiest station in Paris, well ahead of Gare Saint Lazare and Gare de Lyon. It even ranks third in the world in terms of annual passenger numbers! Finding a taxi at the last minute is relatively easy, but demand is often high, especially for evening trains, and waiting times can be long. So it's best to book in advance if you're in a hurry. Good to know: A taxi booking service is available in 1st class on TGV trains. Simply ask the ticket inspector directly. A "taxis booked" counter is normally located in the arrivals hall.

Where to take a taxi at the Gare du Nord : The taxi rank is located on the forecourt opposite the main exit. (taxi rank). Taxis are plentiful but demand is high.
Book a driver to wait for you when you get off the train
The iDCAB booking service operates at certain stations - 25 in total in France, including Gare du Nord. A VTC or taxi driver will be waiting on arrival with a name sign. There is a booking fee, and the journey must be paid for in advance. The service is similar to that provided by VTCs (see above), with any booking fees extra.
Getting to Paris Orly or Paris de Gaulle airport
The cheapest way to get to Orly or Roissy airport from Gare du Nord is by train or metro to Orly.
The RER B provides connections to Paris Orly airport (Junction with Antony in Orlyval) or Paris Charles de Gaulle. The station is located in the basement of the station. Fares range from €11.8 to €14.5, depending on the destination airport*.
The opening of line 14 to Orly airport now makes it possible to link the centre of Paris and the airport in 25 minutes for €10.30
